Valid MD or DO license to practice medicine in Texas required.

Responsibilities

NEEDED: Physician (MD / DO)
LOCATION: Fort Worth, TX 76114
SCHEDULE: 680 hours per year, 120 workdays, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess knowledge, skills, abilities, and a current, valid license to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
Serious applicants must submit a current CV, photocopies of documents evidencing education, license, certification and training.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for providing in-house medical care for the inmate population.
Will perform complete physical examinations, collect comprehensive medical and social history to include a review of all body systems, perform physical assessment in correlation with historical findings, record preliminary objective findings, examine and order appropriate diagnostic testing and provide necessary treatment and/or medications as required.
Refer selected cases to consultant specialists when necessary and refer inmates requiring hospitalization to a community hospital and to an appropriate admitting physician.
All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of medicine, and in compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations.
Detailed medical record documentation must be maintained.
Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record and will have all documentation completed by the end of the workday.
Any recommendations for further diagnostic testing and/or treatment will be made in the appropriate section of the electronic record, pending review by the Utilization Review committee.
