Duties
Conduct thorough medical assessments, including physical examinations and patient histories, to diagnose a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle counseling, and preventive care strategies.
Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Coordinate with specialists across various medical disciplines such as cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology, pediatrics, and more to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Perform routine procedures including suturing, immunizations, basic life support, and wound care while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic illnesses like diabetes or hypertension.
Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Skills
Extensive knowledge of family medicine principles combined with experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for efficient documentation and patient management.
Strong diagnostic skills across multiple specialties including internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), psychiatry, and emergency medicine.
Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines like radiology, anesthesiology, pathology, cardiology, pulmonology, and more.
Experience in performing diagnostic radiology procedures such as CT scans or ultrasound interpretations is a plus.
Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for accurate billing and compliance purposes.
Excellent communication skills for patient education, triage assessments, and interdisciplinary team coordination.
Commitment to ongoing professional development through research participation or post-residency experience in specialized fields such as critical care or perioperative care.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum of one (1) year of Attending or inpatient clinical experience required.
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care.
