Overview

This role is generally responsible for providing care to vascular patients for TVCG CARES (Center for Anomalies & Rare Entities) Under the Directorship of Dr. Naiem Nassiri - a world-renowned expert in the field of vascular anomalies - TVCG CARES is an internationally recognized, destination center and an innovative branch of the practice specializing in the treatment of vascular anomalies - including hemangiomas and vascular malformations. The Physician Assistant will play a crucial role in the evaluation, diagnosis, workup, surgical and interventional care and follow up for patients of this center and receive the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking new work in this field. The Physician Assistant will care for patients, maintain accurate patient records, and schedule and administer follow-up appointments to patients as required. The Physician Assistant will report to and collaborate with Dr. Nassiri and the clinical leadership and will always act within the scope of practice and under the authority of the attending surgeon. The individual in this role will be responsible for carrying out all assigned responsibilities and duties within the guidelines set forth by the physician staff, and in adherence to the regulations outlined by the relevant state Board of Medicine Licensure.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Diagnosis and management of patients with vascular disease including performance of procedures and providing optimal patient care from check-in to discharge
  • Comprehensive history and physical exams including ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing, dispensing, and administering medications
  • Provide education and support to families
  • Act as first assist in hospital and OBL-based surgeries and interventions
  • Develop and offer educational programs and events to both professionals and lay persons in the community
  • Assist in maintaining IAC accreditation, including developing policy and procedure manual, staffing, and ongoing operations
  • Oversee Quality Assurance program
  • Peer to peer review to assist with insurance coverage
  • Assist with marketing efforts, including community outreach, networking, and social media
  • Ensure proper documentation with accordance to the regulatory requirements and protect all information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Continuously engage in projects that advance professional awareness and competency
  • Provide clinical guidance and leadership for team as needed
  • Uphold all regulatory standards including IAC
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed
  • Take necessary after-hour call coverage for TVCG CARES patients based on agreed upon frequency

Requirements
  • Registered as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
  • Passed certification examination of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc. (NCCPA)
  • 3+ years recent experience as a Physician Assistant in a vascular setting preferred
  • 1+ year of out-patient care experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member developing work relationships with everyone in the office
  • Willing to be available for local and/or regional assignments as needed
  • High standard of moral and ethical behavior
  • Desire for career growth, self-enhancement, and involvement in cutting edge practice, providing world-class therapy to patients with rare debilitating disorders

Compensation

$95,000 - $150,000 per year. Negotiable based on skills and experience.
