Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program
Licensed as a Physician Assistant in Alabama within 60 days
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
Responsibilities
Assist in diagnosing and managing children with developmental delays or behavior concerns under physician supervision
Perform medical and developmental screenings for infants and toddlers
Gather comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
Help evaluate new patients for necessary assessments
Provide families with information and support about the diagnostic process
Initiate referrals to other specialists and agencies
Prescribe and monitor medications
Order relevant laboratory and diagnostic tests
Maintain and update electronic health records
Ensure regular and prompt attendance to work schedule

Responsibilities
Assists in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of children referred for developmental delays/disorders and/or behavior concerns, under the supervision of a physician
Performs medical and developmental screenings and evaluation of infants and toddlers
Obtains thorough histories and physicals on pediatrics patients
Assists in determining needed evaluations for new patients
Provides information and support to families regarding the diagnostic process and guidance and implications regarding diagnosis
Initiates referrals to other physicians and agencies
Responsible for prescribing and monitoring medications
Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies
Updates and maintains electronic health records
Regular and prompt attendance
Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required
Related duties as required.
Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards

Qualifications
