- Carrying out treatments
- Determining and arranging proper patient dispositions
- Identifying and correcting workplace medical issues
- Counseling and educating employees on health-related issues
This position functions as a fully qualified professional with a full understanding of occupational medicine and related clinical disciplines. The selected candidate will work independently under limited direction while resolving a wide range of clinical and occupational health issues.
Position Responsibilities- Assist occupational physicians in providing medical services and treatment
- Evaluate employee health concerns and recommend appropriate disposition and follow-up
- Identify workplace medical issues and support corrective actions
- Counsel employees on health-related matters and preventive care
- Provide clinical support within an occupational medicine environment
- Resolve a diverse range of complex issues requiring analysis and evaluation of multiple factors
- Contribute to organizational goals and objectives through effective clinical decision-making
- Network with senior internal and external personnel regarding occupational health matters
- Exercise sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions
- Independently plan activities and prioritize assignments to accomplish objectives
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor of Science degree required
AND- Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Occupational Medicine with 2-5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine
OR- Working knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in a clinically related field, including:
- Family Medicine
- Emergency Medicine
- Urgent Care Medicine
- Internal Medicine
- Sports Medicine
- 2-5 years of recent clinical experience in one of the above fields
Required Certifications & Licensure- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) through the NCCPA
- Licensed to practice medicine through the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners
- Current New Mexico Pharmacy License
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
