What You'll Do
This role is designed for a Physician Assistant with an interest in behavioral health who will provide comprehensive clinical support while developing advanced expertise in psychiatric evaluation and medication management. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a structured behavioral health environment, with increasing clinical responsibilities based on experience, training, certification, and applicable scope of practice.
- Behavioral Health Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, obtain relevant medical and psychiatric histories, identify presenting concerns, document clinical findings, and support the development of individualized treatment plans under appropriate clinical supervision and within applicable scope of practice.
- Care Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, communicate clinical findings, support continuity of treatment, and promote positive patient outcomes.
- Clinical Documentation and Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation in the electronic medical record while ensuring compliance with HIPAA requirements, organizational policies, professional standards, and applicable federal and Florida regulations.
- Medication Management Development: Develop competency in psychiatric medication management through structured training, mentorship, and collaboration with experienced clinical staff, with the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility for medication evaluation, monitoring, and management as permitted by applicable licensure, certification, supervision, and organizational requirements.
- Patient Engagement and Education: Establish strong therapeutic and professional relationships with patients by providing compassionate care, education regarding diagnoses and treatment options, medication education, clinical guidance, and ongoing support throughout the treatment process.
- Psychiatric Clinical Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development focused on behavioral health, psychiatric assessment, evidence-based treatment approaches, psychopharmacology, medication monitoring, and other areas necessary to support continued growth as a behavioral health provider.
- Quality Improvement and Clinical Excellence: Contribute to initiatives designed to improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes, access to care, documentation quality, and the overall patient experience while supporting a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Regulatory and Ethical Standards: Practice within the applicable scope of the Physician Assistant license and behavioral health credentials, maintain compliance with professional and ethical standards, and follow all applicable state and federal requirements governing patient care, prescribing, documentation, supervision, and clinical practice.
- Professional Growth Toward Advanced Behavioral Health Practice: Demonstrate the clinical competency, professionalism, and commitment necessary to progressively expand responsibilities within the organization. - Psychiatric Patient Care: Provide ongoing clinical care to adult patients experiencing behavioral health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other psychiatric or behavioral health presentations appropriate to the provider's training, credentials, and scope of practice.
- Team Participation and Professional Development: Participate in clinical meetings, case consultations, training opportunities, quality initiatives, and organizational programs that support collaboration, continued learning, and high-quality patient care.

What You'll Bring
- Active and unrestricted Florida Physician Assistant license required
- Active Unrestricted DEA license required
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required
- Behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health certification or specialized training strongly preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, primary care, or another clinical setting preferred
- Strong interest in developing a career in behavioral health and psychiatric medicine
- Knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient monitoring
- Interest or experience in psychiatric medication management and psychopharmacology preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining high standards of clinical care and documentation
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to ethical, compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
- Willingness to participate in ongoing behavioral health education, mentorship, and professional development
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career pathway toward advanced psychiatric practice and, where applicable, Nurse Practitioner education and credentialing
