We are currently seeking a
Primary Care Physician to work at our Manhattan location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients on a continuing basis including but not limited to:
- Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions for adults.
- Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings.
- Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform clinical decision-making.
- Prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the scope of licensure.
- Referring patients for consultant services when necessary.
- Engage in health promotion activities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations.
- Complete EMR documentation, billing, and patient-related paperwork in a timely manner, we use ECW.
- Comfort working with diverse populations including recent immigrants to the United States.
- Participate in night and weekend on-calls to be shared among clinicians.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
- Attend and participate in clinic, provider, and all staff meetings.
- Participate in pre-visit planning activities with the other members of the care team.
- Participate in center wide and clinic-specific quality improvement projects and PEER Review.
- Participate in appropriate certification/maintenance of certification and continuing medical education activities.
- Maintain updated license and DEA.
- Work continually to assure deliverance of quality clinical care in a safe, efficient, competent, and effective manner.
- Comply with all laws applicable to the practice of your specialty including HIPAA and mandated reporting.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:- Must have an MD or DO degree & board eligible/certified.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in internal medicine or family medicine.
- BC/BE in specialty.
- Current and valid NYS license.
- Current DEA certificate.
- Updated BLS and infection control certificate.
- Excellent bedside manner.
- Proficiency in Spanish or an South east Asian language is preferred.
- Working knowledge of primary HIV medical care and LGBTQI care is a plus.
