Full Job Description
Physical Therapist
Hartford, CT
Outpatient

Our Hartford Outpatient clinic serves a unique patient population and is best suited for clinicians who enjoy working with medically complex individuals in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Due to its proximity to Hartford Hospital, this clinic combines elements of a traditional orthopedic clinic with a strong focus on community health and management of multiple health conditions.
Patients often present with multiple comorbidities, persistent pain, and higher levels of medical complexity, requiring strong clinical reasoning, advanced evaluation skills, and the ability to identify when referrals to physicians or other providers are appropriate. This is a high-skill, high-cognition environment where therapists must be comfortable working in teams to manage complex cases rather than low complexity orthopedic conditions alone.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing a diverse caseload of medically complex patients with orthopedic and non-orthopedic considerations.
  • Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and differential diagnosis skills.
  • Identifying when patients require referrals to physicians, specialists, or other healthcare providers.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Providing evidence-based care within a high-volume outpatient setting.
  • Working with PT, PTA, OT, and Audiology counterparts to deliver high-quality care
This clinic has an emphasis on a team-based approach and has a strong culture of learning, teaching, mentoring, and innovation. This opportunity is ideal for a therapist who enjoys complex problem-solving, values interdisciplinary care, and is passionate about serving a community-based patient population with significant medical and orthopedic needs.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, BS, MS or Doctoral degree
  • CT active license.
  • Experience treating high-complexity patients preferred
  • OCS or GCS preferred, or interest in pursuing specialization
