SUMMARY

As a Physical Therapist, you welcome patients and put them at ease. You provide PT to patients with care and compassion to ensure rehabilitation success.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: UMMC (United Memorial Medical Center) 330 Summit St, Batavia, NY 14020

DEPARTMENT: Time split between inpatient acute care & Outpatient

SCHEDULE: Day shift, Monday - Friday 8-hr. shifts. Weekend rotation every 8 weeks (5-6 hrs on Saturday & 1-3 hrs on Sunday)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans, organizes, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team. Supervises work of support personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Evaluation. Assess patient impairment and current condition to evaluate rehabilitation potential; report on patient progress, communicate effectively with physician and other team members; counsel patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment

  • Treatment & Planning. Develop physical therapy treatment project for each patient, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat and cryotherapy; apply diagnostic and progressive functionality tests

  • Leadership. Train, mentor, and coach team members to ensure standards of the department are met; address scheduling needs to ensure proper coverage is provided

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelors degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist required.

  • Required Licensure/Certification Skills: Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist. If New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from New York State or APTA accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License Requirements

  • Developed leadership skills

  • Patient-focused, with demonstrated care and compassion.

  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior Physical Therapist experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$71,000.00 - $101,920.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
