DescriptionProvide training and oversight of medication processes, systems, and procedures to maintain adherence with regulations and standards for state, federal, and quality agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide oversite to maintain department and organizational adherence to regulations and standards for state, federal and quality agencies.
- Current knowledge of pharmacy regulatory and standard changes and to maintain conformance with regulations and standards.
- Develop and support institutional drug diversion activities to maintain congruence with regulations and standards for federal, state and quality agencies.
- Access and monitor systems and equipment to maintain regulatory adherence.
- Identify and implement changes to maintain regulatory and standard conformity in areas such as medication security, control substances, compounding, inventory, billing, and finance.
- Direct standardization of procedures for regulatory congruence.
- Create and modify hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Analyze, manipulate, and organize data to assess and maintain operational integrity.
- Guide development and documentation of training and competences.
- Identify, communicates, and provide solutions to maintain regulatory adherence.
- Initiate, collaborate, and participate in activities that will increase conformance with regulations and standards for federal, state, and quality agencies.
- Educate department and organizational employees to maintain regulatory adherence.
- Identify, report, and help resolve system issues and/ or other items in need of repair
- Perform clinical pharmacist, pharmacy clerk, and technician functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements- Bachelor of Science degree and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- PharmD preferred including 1-year residency
- Two (2) years of clinical pharmacist experience, required
- Current and active, unrestricted Pharmacist license; Arizona license, preferred
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Licensed to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications, preferred
