Pharmacist - Specialty Pharmacy | Elk Grove Village, ILCOMPENSATION & LOCATIONThe compensation range for this role is $130,000-135,000.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Elk Grove Village, IL location.
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for Specialty Pharmacy patients and other customers serviced at the branch location. This position is responsible for interacting with the health care professionals in the provision and coordination of customer care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Providing specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes including advising and educating physicians on patient issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs, side effects, and appropriate dosing. Additionally, this role will be a key communicator to the physician regarding patient response to treatment issues
- Data Entry, verification of prescriptions and checking of orders.
- Coordinating the activities of assigned pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with physicians' prescriptions
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and controlled drugs and the maintenance of required records
- Conducting and evaluating medication histories, assessing compliance and suggesting modifications so as to achieve desired outcomes. This role will provide educational assistance to patients/families/caregivers to ensure understanding and to provide information regarding the patient's therapy/treatment. Management oversight of the therapy care plan
- Participate in On-call rotation and activities
- Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND TRAINING- Requires a degree in pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy - Pharm. D. Degree preferred
- Candidate must be licensed in the state of Illinois. Additional multi-state licensure preferred
- Ability to complete background check and drug screen
- Minimum 2 years' experience as licensed pharmacist
- Intermediate computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience in home infusion or Specialty pharmacy preferred
- Strong organizational skill, interpersonal skills and detail orientation important for this position
