Full Job Description
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist II participates in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process. The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist II supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to EMR and pharmacy system changes and additions. This role participates in providing EMR-related staff education/training.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participates in medication list and validation management to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, and recognized pharmacy practice standards.
  • Participates in testing of system implementation and upgrades to assure safe and appropriate use of medications.
  • Participates in the process of identifying and facilitating advanced clinical decision support.
  • Provides informatics support to pharmacy staff, residents, other clinical staff, and internal audits.
  • Creates and modifies reports to support pharmacy related activities.
  • Prepares and presents at least one presentation and/or participates in a minimum of one multidisciplinary project per year.
  • Participates in training of new informatics pharmacists and other staff who help manage the Epic medication list.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist II must meet the following requirements to be hired and maintain their position in the Pharmacy Department at DFCI.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy.

Minimum Experience:
4 years of hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, clinical trial research experience or completion of a PGY2 residency required. Oncology experience preferred. 2 years of clinical pharmacy informatics experience required or certification in informatics.

License/Certification/Registration:
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Epic Willow Rx certification required or Epic go-live experience. Willow certification would need to be obtained within first six months of employment.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

$150,800.00 - $159,800.00
