Job DescriptionSummary of PositionA PCA is responsible building and maintaining nutrient and crop protection programs for our crops. A PCA is also responsible for coordinating with the farming teams to implement and execute crop protection and nutrient programs. PCA works with three different types of crops: pistachios, almonds, and pomegranates.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesFunctions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasks depending on workload, season, etc.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Monitor and analyze orchards for insects, weeds, nutrition deficiencies, and disease identification.
- Responsible for crop protection which consists of assisting various farming departments with written recommendations and schedules using software applications.
- Responsible for plant nutrition which consists of coordinating when and what type of nutrients and crop protection materials to apply on the orchards.
- Track and record the quantities of nutrients and crop protection materials applied to the orchards.
- Responsible for ordering materials and communicating with the Procurement department to ensure the appropriate quantities are ordered and delivered on time for future applications.
- Forecasting and budgeting for future crop year.
- Consistently monitor field conditions including but not limited to weed pressure, insect pressure, crop phenology, etc.
- Responsible for attending weekly ranch meetings to report PCA updates as needed, as well as remain informed with updates from other departments.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:- Needs the educational and/or experience requirements to obtain a PCA license.
- 1-year minimum working in an agricultural environment
SPECIFIC KNOWELDGE, AND SKILLS- Experience using Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
- Thorough understanding of farming and ag spray equipment
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Competent in utilizing software-based farming management systems.
- Proficient computer/technology skills necessary for the role.
- Ability to plan, lay out, and supervise the work of supervisors and crew leaders in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
- Stays up to date with new pest control information to improve the company's operations.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES:- PCA License
- Qualified Applicator License (preferred)
- CCA (preferred)
- CNMP (preferred)
- Valid California Driver's License and have a satisfactory driving record.
Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
