Pay Range: $108,869.00 - $145,150.00
Responsible for the management of the Personal Trust Group; directs activities of administrators and support staff, including the training, mentoring and development of staff: Administers a significant group of complex accounts; Provides guidance to administrators and private client advisors regarding administrative issues as required. Responsible for the compliance oversight of assigned team. Acts as chair of regional Account Review Process.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with background in finance, business management, investments or other relevant areas
- 7-10 years relevant management experience in a Trust department, Financial Services organization, Insurance company or law firm
- Completion of career specific training such as Cannon Trust or New York Bankers Trust Schools to include casework in estate and trust administration and taxation
- 5 years previous experience supervising work activities of others
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to direct work activities of staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, able to research independently and reduce findings to writing.
- Strong computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Suite and other proprietary industry software.
- Excellent customer service skills; able to independently organize, coordinate, and outline agendas for client meetings that may include other professionals.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex legal documents.
- Significant working knowledge of personal income, fiduciary income and transfer taxation.
- Strong mentoring and problem resolution skills.
- Knowledge of performance review policy.
Tasks Performed:
- 35% - Administers trusts, estates and agency accounts, often of a sensitive nature and for high net worth clients, providing superior customer service. Consults with attorneys and other financial planning professionals to mutually attain client/account objectives. Independently analyzes and interprets complex testamentary and inter vivos instruments and applies conclusions in the administration of trusts and estates.
- 25% - Trains, mentors, develops and oversees a team of Trust Administration officers
- 20% - Completes annual review of administrative documentation and participates in investment risk analysis of account assets to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- 10% - Analyzes trust and estate accountings for accuracy and proper form, to determine that account administration has been properly completed.
- 5% - Chairs a regional Account Review Committee
- 5% - Other duties as assigned.
