Overview

Permanent Installation Sales Engineer

Remote | Commercial Building Access & Façade Access Systems

About the Role

Sky Climber is looking for a growth-minded Permanent Installation Sales Engineer to help expand our Permanent Installation business across assigned territories. This is a technical, consultative sales role for someone who can understand customer challenges, evaluate building access applications, and position Sky Climber’s engineered façade access solutions as the smarter, safer, and higher-value choice.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, commercial curiosity, and the drive to win by creating better solutions—not simply by competing on price. You will work with contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, property managers, and building owners to understand project requirements, compare options, explain tradeoffs, and deliver proposals that clearly communicate Sky Climber’s value versus competitive alternatives.

This role reports directly to the Permanent Installation Business Unit Manager.

This is a strong opportunity for a motivated technical sales professional who wants to grow with a specialized business, influence project outcomes, and become a trusted resource in the commercial building access market.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a trusted technical sales advisor for Sky Climber’s permanent installation product portfolio, including powered platforms, monorails, davit systems, rooftop anchorages, and related access equipment
  • Build consultative relationships with new and existing customers by understanding project needs, site conditions, safety requirements, budget priorities, and long-term ownership expectations
  • Prospect and pursue opportunities in both new construction and existing building retrofit markets
  • Review drawings, specifications, contract documents, and customer requirements to identify compliant, practical, and differentiated façade access and window washing system solutions
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Customer Support, Operations, and Sales leadership to develop technical solutions that balance safety, compliance, performance, cost, manufacturability, and customer value
  • Develop clear, professional proposals and value-based comparisons that help customers understand why Sky Climber’s solution is the best fit for their project
  • Lead technical and commercial scope clarification, including specification review, alternates, exclusions, pricing assumptions, and solution tradeoffs to support successful project execution
  • Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and customer training that translate product features into customer benefits, risk reduction, lifecycle value, and improved project outcomes
  • Support installation and inspection activities when necessary
  • Manage bid qualification paperwork and project documentation requirements
  • Follow up on contracts, purchase orders, project approvals, and customer communications
  • Represent Sky Climber at industry events, trade associations, customer meetings, and networking functions
  • Support implementation of company marketing and sales initiatives
  • Prepare for and participate in regular sales meetings and business reviews
  • Maintain accurate sales activity reporting and pipeline management
  • Use structured problem-solving to address technical questions, objections, competitive threats, and customer concerns throughout the sales process
  • Increase win rate by offering better engineered solutions, responsive technical support, disciplined follow-up, and differentiated product offerings versus competition
  • Provide timely verbal and written updates to sales leadership and senior management
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales goals and revenue objectives
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, estimating, construction, or engineered product experience preferred
  • Technical understanding of suspended access, façade access systems, permanent building access solutions, structural interfaces, and construction project requirements preferred
  • Experience working with general contractors, architects, engineers, building owners, and property management firms
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience navigating commercial construction projects and active job sites
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction management platforms such as Procore or Building Connected
  • Strong analytical ability to evaluate customer requirements, compare solution options, explain technical tradeoffs, and support value-based selling decisions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including contractors, consultants, building owners, and internal stakeholders
  • Growth mindset with the initiative to learn the market, pursue new opportunities, improve sales approach, and continuously build technical and commercial capability
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
