Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Perinatologist, you will deliver the highest quality, specialized patient care within a high-functioning interdisciplinary team, adhering to ethical and professional standards focused on maternal-fetal well-being.

 

Every day, you will evaluate and manage high-risk obstetric patients, provide specialized prenatal and perinatal consultations, perform advanced diagnostic procedures, maintain precise medical records, and fulfill administrative duties. You'll comply with all relevant healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare, managed care), ethical directives, and hospital policies, actively participating in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and relevant committees. You'll contribute to operational matters, provide on-call coverage for obstetric emergencies, and pursue continuous medical education to maintain expertise in maternal-fetal medicine.

 

To be successful in this role, you must commit to quality care for complex pregnancies, compliance with all relevant regulations, continuous learning in the evolving field of perinatology, and active participation in hospital goals, including community benefit services and maintaining compensation model targets.

  • Provides highest quality patient care for high-risk obstetric patients.
  • Provides specialized ambulatory and inpatient perinatal care as designated.
  • Services provided by the physician include seeing patients, providing consultations, performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing medical records, and fulfilling professional and administrative duties.
  • Updates and maintains medical records for all examinations, services, and other interventions in accordance with policy, ensuring meticulous documentation of complex cases.
  • Physician participates and complies with the requirements of sponsoring entities' ethical and religious directives (ERD), Medicare, Medicaid, or other federal and state reimbursement plans.
  • Physician will participate and lead in various activities and initiatives that will promote clinical and quality improvement for perinatal services provided.
  • Complies at all times with Hospital's policies and procedures; financial reviews, utilization review/quality management, compliance and integrity program; compliance and citizenship policies and the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in maternal-fetal medicine, both academically and through applied skill.
  • Development of personal and professional knowledge and competence through continuing medical education, including maintaining applicable board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (7DEA8) registration;
  • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital;
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution
  • Active or eligible unrestricted license to practice medicine in Colorado
