Responsible for providing perfusion services defined as those functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. Selects the appropriate equipment and techniques to be used. Acknowledges the necessity to participate in ongoing professional and educational development due to evolving technology. What you will do
3030Responsible for providing perfusion services as indicated per defined standards and protocols. Performs advanced technical work in the selection, preparation, operation, and maintenance of the heart/lung machine and accessory equipment.
3030Nurtures and maintains communication with the surgical team to insure optimal patient care.
3030Ensures appropriate function of all equipment through routine cleaning and maintenance.
3030Facilitates the delivery of high quality patient care through diligent evaluation of current processes and opportunities for improvement. Assists with the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures. Implements quality improvement processes for enhances patient care and outcomes.
3030Demonstrates personal development by utilizing available resources to maintain the accepted standard of care.
3030Performs non-clinical/office duties such as participating in capital purchase decisions and coordinating and submitting patient charges.
3030Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

3030Required - Master's Degree Cardiovascular Perfusion
Work Experience Requirements
3030Required - Perfusion 1-3 years
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
3030Required - Heartsaver CPR AED - American Heart Association
3030Required - Certified Clinical Perfusionist - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion

3030Demonstrates knowledge of concepts and principles in the field of perfusion services.

Physical Demands
3030The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
3030Must have good balance and coordination.
3030The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
3030The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
3030Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
3030Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
3030Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
