Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Perfusionist, you will be a vital surgical team member, operating specialized cardiovascular equipment like heart-lung machines during complex procedures, ensuring patient physiological well-being.Every day you will meticulously monitor and manage a patient's circulatory and respiratory functions, administering blood products/medications, and maintaining precise parameters. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team, making real-time adjustments for patient stability.To be successful, you need exceptional technical proficiency, a deep understanding of cardiovascular physiology/pharmacology, and the ability to perform calmly under pressure. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and teamwork are paramount for optimal patient outcomes during life-sustaining interventions.
- Appropriately assess patient profile and manage CardioPulmonary Bypass (CPB)
- Use appropriate equipment/supplies and monitor data based on patient profile (age, condition, procedure)
- Appropriately communicate with open0heart team personnel during procedures
- Recognize and resolve variances and abnormal situations that may arise
- Utilize all available safety devices during cardiopulmonary bypass as per departmental policy
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical vigilance and awareness before, during and after cardiopulmonary bypass

- Bachelors Other, upon hire and
- *New grads must have provisional license contingent onpassing ABCP exam. Must test and pass the exam within 12months of hire to be qualified for CCP credentials
- Perfusionist: TX, upon hire and
- Certified Clinical Perfusionist, within 12 - months and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
