POSITION SUMMARYAlive and Well operates the Nutrabolt Performance Lab, a state-of-the-art physiology lab at Nutrabolt's Austin headquarters, in partnership with Nutrabolt. The Performance Lab Manager owns the lab's day-to-day operations and performance: delivering concierge health and performance testing - body composition (DEXA) scanning, VO2 max and metabolic testing, cognitive/neuro testing, and biomarker testing - while managing the lab's operating results, compliance, vendor relationships, and partner coordination. The Manager ensures safe, accurate, and consistent delivery of every testing service and a high-quality experience for Nutrabolt employees and VIP guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESLab Management
- Owns day-to-day operation of the Nutrabolt Performance Lab
- Tracks testing volume, revenue, and expenses against plan; prepares the operating data behind the detailed monthly P&L Alive and Well provides to Nutrabolt
- Manages supplies and inventory; coordinates equipment maintenance, service, and vendor relationships
- Runs the Nutrabolt employee testing program, including scheduling, promotion, and engagement in coordination with Nutrabolt
- Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for Nutrabolt and for Central Athlete's coaching team
- Maintains and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each testing service; leads SOP development and revision as new services launch
Testing Services
- Administers DEXA body composition scans per manufacturer guidelines and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) protocols, including operator positioning/shielding requirements
- Performs and logs daily DEXA calibration checks and phantom scans per RSO quality-control requirements
- Administers VO2 max and resting metabolic rate testing (treadmill and bike protocols), grip strength, and related performance assessments
- Administers cognitive/neuro testing (e.g., CNS Vital Signs) per established protocols
- Coordinates biomarker/blood testing with Alive and Well's nursing team
- Exports device data into the AI Performance Report System, quality-checks generated reports, and delivers results to clients; routes biomarker results and anything requiring clinical judgment to the Medical Director
Client Experience and Compliance
- Manages client scheduling, intake, consent forms, and results communication via the lab's scheduling/EMR software
- Protects the confidentiality of client health information, with particular discretion given that many clients are Nutrabolt employees and executives
- Maintains a clean, organized, client-ready lab environment and testing equipment
- Escalates abnormal situations or equipment issues to the RSO and Medical Director per protocol
- Other lab operations duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field (PhD preferred, not required)
- ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, or NSCA-CSCS certification required
- Holds, or obtains, a Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist permit or ISCD Bone Densitometry Technologist certification meeting Texas DSHS training-hour requirements
- Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required
- Experience administering physiological/performance testing (VO2 max, body composition, etc.) preferred
- Experience managing operations, budgets, or staff in a clinical, lab, or client-facing service setting preferred
- Comfortable with clinical/lab software (scheduling, EMR, data entry) and Excel
- Strong communication skills with clients, corporate partners, and clinical/scientific staff
- Detail-oriented; comfortable following strict SOPs/QC protocols in a regulated, radiation-producing-device environment

- Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple testing modalities and operational priorities in a single day

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move testing equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to position clients for DEXA scans and to monitor and spot clients during treadmill and bike testing
WORK ENVIRONMENTOn-site physiology lab at Nutrabolt Headquarters in Austin, TX, a corporate campus setting. Some early-morning and evening flexibility required to accommodate client schedules. Involves operating a radiation-producing (DEXA) device under RSO oversight.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSSalary range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
