Position Summary
The Employed Physician at MD Pediatric Associates is a compassionate, board-eligible or board-certified pediatrician responsible for delivering comprehensive primary care to infants, children, and adolescents in alignment with the practice's mission to provide excellent, family-focused care. This role includes diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, promoting preventive health, and guiding families through all stages of pediatric development. The physician serves as a clinical leader within the care team, collaborating with nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated, relationship-based care. The physician is expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement while supporting the health and well-being of the community.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
- Board eligibility in Pediatrics (board certification preferred)
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid DEA, DPS, and any other licenses or certificates legally required to practice in Texas
- Successful completion of all required clinical rotations and internship
- Completion of all CME as required by the Texas Medical Board
- Maintenance of active board certification
- Successful completion of MDPA and affiliated hospital credentialing processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and routine well-child checks
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions
- Administer or prescribe medications, vaccinations, therapies, and specialized care
- Obtain and maintain accurate medical histories, exam findings, and test results in the EHR
- Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory and diagnostic tests as appropriate
- Counsel patients and families on nutrition, activity, hygiene, development, and prevention
- Discuss diagnoses, procedures, test results, and treatment plans in understandable terms
- Refer patients to specialists or other services when needed, and ensure follow-up
- Supervise and support the clinical team including APPs, nurses, MAs, and patient care coordinators
- Participate in prenatal education classes, community outreach, and marketing events
- Attend internal and external clinical meetings, trainings, and conferences as assigned
- Collaborate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and provide occasional in-service training
- Uphold MDPA's Code of Conduct and model the Mission, Vision, and Values in practice
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization
