Gillette Children's is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Gillette Children's is a multidisciplinary specialty hospital that focuses on children with complex neurological, orthopedic, and/or rehabilitation needs. This is mostly an outpatient practice with some inpatient consults. We focus on the evaluation and management of infants, children, and adolescents that have a variety of hormonal disorders, with a focus on providing endocrinology support to neurologically complex children that are seen by our colleagues at Gillette. Our practice has a special interest in bone health as we are the only multidisciplinary osteogenesis imperfecta clinic in the region. Endocrinology also plays an important role in the neuromuscular coordinated clinic.
Limited inpatient and ER consults. Low call volume that is shared among the providers, with much support from the inpatient providers.
Purpose of Position:Endocrinology services are provided to all Gillette inpatient and outpatient clients as requested by consulting providers or caregivers concerns. A broad range of pediatric endocrinological problems can be seen at Gillette. Because of the unique patient population at Gillette (with various neurological and neuromuscular conditions) a fair amount of endocrine care will involve growth and development, pubertal maturation, bone health and metabolism.
Endocrine care is available for multiple endocrinopathies; including, thyroid disorders, pituitary/hypothalamic disorders, electrolyte disturbances, osteoporosis, adrenal dysfunction, and some abnormal glucose metabolism. Various genetic and syndromic disorders with specific endocrine manifestations are also seen.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:- Outpatient consultative and subsequent care for endocrine and growth disorders
- Differential diagnosis of endocrine disorders
- Assessment and treatment of endocrine disorders as needed
- Possibility to participate in multidisciplinary clinics.
- Reading and interpreting DXA scans at Gillette.
- Development of quality control plans.
- Participation in the coordination and quality assurance of Gillette's anthropometric measuring service
- Research opportunity for clinical studies involving various endocrine areas of interest (densitometry, OI treatment, GH use, etc)
- Provide endocrine related talks and grand rounds for residents, staff, nursing (at Gillette and in the community)
- Outpatient clinics at various locations around the Twin Cities
- Team with the endocrine staff in the outpatient endocrine clinics, monitoring lab results, inter- clinic endocrine care and quarterly peds endocrine meetings.
- Participate on various Gillette committees
- Perform inpatient pediatric endocrine consultations and management.
- Shared call coverage for endocrine concerns with Gillette patients
Qualifications Required - Board Certified or eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
- Meets the qualifications to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota, including DEA license.
- Current certification in CPR (BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association) or must obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Have or be willing to obtain ISCD certification within 6 months of hire
