The Payment and Settlement Technology group is seeking a Payment Platform Implementation Engineer to design, build, and support scalable technology solutions for critical payment processing, settlement, and transaction banking platforms. In this role, you will partner with business, operations, product, and technology teams to deliver secure, resilient, and well-controlled applications that support high-value payments, settlement workflows, regulatory requirements, and ongoing platform modernization initiatives across SWIFT, FED, ACH and other global internal and external channels.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting payment processing, settlement workflows, and transaction banking capabilities across internal and external channels.
- Build and integrate APIs, microservices, and event-driven components that enable secure, resilient, and scalable payment orchestration, validation, enrichment, routing, and status tracking.
- Develop scripts and automation utilities to support application deployment, data analysis, operational support, monitoring, reconciliation, and controlled production support activities.
- Design, query, and optimize relational databases supporting payment transactions, reference data, audit trails, exception handling, and settlement reporting.
- Collaborate with business analysts, operations, risk, compliance, infrastructure, and vendor teams to translate payment-domain requirements into reliable technical solutions with strong controls and traceability.
- Support testing, defect resolution, code reviews, release management, and production readiness activities for payment and settlement platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and regulatory alignment.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree in Computer Science preferred.
- Must have hands-on experience working on payment straight-through processing (STP) solutions, including payment initiation, validation, enrichment, routing, settlement, exception handling, and status reporting.
- Strong Java development experience with practical knowledge of APIs, microservices, scripting, relational databases, and production-grade application support.
- Experience with payment platforms, financial messaging, clearing and settlement processes, or banking technology environments preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the local market required.
The expected base salary ranges from $83k-$165k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.#LI-Hybrid
