Full Job Description
As a Partnership Proposals Lead at Via, you'll craft persuasive, exceptionally-written proposals that forge new partnerships with cities, transit agencies, and other public transit providers. Working with members of Via's Strategy and executive leadership teams, you will develop a deep understanding of our customers' needs and goals, become an expert in Via's unique positioning as a technology partner, and own high-quality written proposals for transformative mobility services. Partnership Proposals Leads gain wide-ranging experience in Via's products and services; no specific experience in technology or public transit services is required.

What You'll Do:
  • Hone your strategic thinking skills by coordinating with Via's Partnerships, Expansion, and Finance teams to develop strategies for winning high-stakes, competitive procurements.
  • Become an expert in Via's technology and product offerings, absorbing complex, sometimes technical specifications and distilling information into clear, easily-digestible prose for both internal and external audiences.
  • Write, review, and copy-edit comprehensive long-form narrative proposals for potential partners.
  • Generate compelling original content by ascertaining an audience's needs and deploying your familiarity with Via's technology and operational capabilities, transit norms, and the latest innovations from across the industry.
  • Lead competitive procurements from beginning to end -- through evaluation, creation of exceptional proposal content, review, and submission.
  • Conduct rigorous research by analyzing news stories, new service announcements, scopes of work, city histories, and other forms of information and synthesizing findings into insightful commentary.
  • Skillfully manage communications with potential partners over the phone and email.
  • Support senior team members during interviews and launches with cities and transit agencies.

Who You Are:
  • You're meticulous and thoughtful. You can pay attention to every detail in a complex project while, at the same time, relating each of them to the big picture in a coherent way. You can see the forest and the trees.
  • You have a minimum of 4 years of experience with a record of achievement in roles that require extensive and impeccable written communication. This could take many forms: graduate theses and dissertations, business proposals, policy memos, creative non-fiction, or journalism, to name a few. If you've won awards for your writing, that's a plus!
  • You're passionate about having an impact and are excited about advancing Via's mission to build more efficient, sustainable, and equitable transit systems. You're excited about urban studies, environmental studies, accessibility, equity, and public governance.
  • You have exceptional judgment and strategic intuition. You know when to push and when to compromise when crafting a persuasive narrative.
  • You're a collaborative, on-task project manager. You keep things moving through strong, clear communication and can manage multiple stakeholders across a single project.
  • You're a reliable, motivated self-starter. You enjoy fast-paced environments, aren't deterred by setbacks or pivots, and thrive in roles requiring a very high degree of responsibility.
  • You're data-savvy and believe in evidence-based arguments. You excel at crafting compelling narratives using a wide range of quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • You're an academic high-achiever, preferably in the humanities or social sciences where you practiced qualitative analysis and long-form writing (undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred).

What We Offer:
  • All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
  • Salary Range: $115,000-$160,000
  • Comprehensive health coverage, with low-cost dental and vision plans
  • A 401(k) with company match and vesting
  • Fully paid parental leave for new parents, with extended leave options
  • Additional benefits (mental health, pet insurance, and other wellness perks)
