Full Job Description
Partner, Tax Services serves as a senior leader within RubinBrown's Tax Services practice, providing strategic direction, client ownership, and technical leadership for engagements serving financial institutions, construction and real estate industries. This role offers the opportunity to build and deepen trusted client relationships, ensure the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance, and mentor and develop future leaders within the practice. The Partner also plays a key role in driving practice growth through business development, cross-service collaboration, and thought leadership.

Major Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate is expected to have extensive knowledge in individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation, tax planning and tax research. The Tax Partner responsibilities will focus primarily on mid-size corporate clients and will include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as primary relationship owner for clients, advising executive management and boards
  • Oversee engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and RubinBrown's quality expectations, and approve key deliverables.
  • Maintain responsibility for quality, risk management, and independence compliance, serving as a technical resource on complex matters.
  • Monitor engagement economics, including budgets, staffing, realization, and profitability, to support sustainable client relationships
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex tax, consulting and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborating with existing team, lead and support business development through opportunity identification, client expansion, and proposal support.
  • Coordinate across service lines to deliver integrated solutions and support growth of the designated industry group.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor professionals, supporting succession planning and long-term practice sustainability.

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active CPA required.
  • 12+ years of progressive public accounting experience with significant focus in S Corps and Partnerships in various industries
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AICPA compliance standards
  • Demonstrated success leading client relationships and executive-level discussions.
  • Proven ability to drive business development, manage risk, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Working Conditions

  • Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work extra hours as determined by workload and client expectations.
  • Travel will be most dependent upon office location. Travel may range from minimal to monthly.
  • Hybrid model (2-3 days in the office/week).
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout office.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds.
