Full Job Description
Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a highly qualified Litigation Paralegal to join its Mass Torts Practice Group. This position would focus on consumer protection litigation defense on behalf of manufacturers. This position would be eligible for remote work arrangements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support an active and dynamic practice that touches all aspects of litigation including discovery, depositions, motions practice, with cases pending in state courts, federal courts, and arbitration.
  • Prepare and draft routine written discovery (including defensive discovery responses, offensive discovery responses) and document production.
  • Organize and redact documents / records, with consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage eDiscovery, including organization, searches, productions, redactions, and log document dispositions.
  • Assess and synthesize materials, records, and documentation, preparing detailed case evaluations for consumer protection litigation defense on behalf of manufacturers.
  • Analyze and organize large amounts of information and data sets.
  • Prepare witness files / materials for taking and defending depositions.
  • Prepare financial analyses and damages and/or settlement calculations based on manufacturer and consumer documentation and records.
  • Produce consistent and succinct reports and summaries for legal teams and clients, in alignment with client goals and defense strategy of portfolios.
  • Manage calendar for high-volume litigation practice.
  • Effective and reliable discovery and management with minimal supervision.
  • Special projects and duties, as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of litigation experience (preference to experience in a mid or large-sized law firm, or high-volume practice). Experience in California courts preferred.
  • Comprehensive experience with written discovery (including defensive discovery responses, offensive discovery responses, and document production) and deep knowledge of discovery process and procedures required.
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize competing deadlines and varying requirements.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team, across different offices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required. Proficiency in database management, web-based portal systems, and SharePoint strongly preferred.


COMPENSATION: The national average salary range for this role is $68,000 - $114,000. Starting salary will be determined based on location, qualifications, and experience.
