Full Job Description
This position requires substantial experience in state and federal court procedures. The ideal candidate will also possess working knowledge of the rules of evidence and trial procedure, strong communication and database skills, and proficiency in Relativity and Microsoft Suite. The ability to adapt quickly to change and evolving circumstances as well as to work quickly and collaborate in teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery, Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities, and other pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements
  • File and serve motions, briefs, exhibits, appendices, and other documents in state and federal courts, including but not limited to, CM/ECF and File & Serve
  • Conduct thorough research to support litigation efforts
  • Handle all aspects of electronic discovery, including the ability to manage document reviews and productions (i.e., loading and coding documents, bates numbering, logging productions, and searching for documents in Relativity database)
  • Support attorneys during depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, and handling logistics, exhibits, assisting in preparing witnesses and experts, and technology needs relating to same
  • Coordinate creation of case management repository for new matters and carry primary responsibility for case file organization, including but not limited to prompt downloading and distribution of Court filings
  • Organize discovery, research, pleadings, and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation
  • Prepare notebooks for hearings, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Communication with clients and counsel to address inquiries and provide case updates, fostering strong client relationships
  • Proofread and cite check legal documents for grammar, formatting, and legal accuracy
  • Calendar and track case deadlines


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate preferred with three to five years' litigation paralegal experience in a mid or large sized law firm
  • Proficiency with File & Serve, CM/ECF, and legal research platforms (LexisNexis, Westlaw)
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize project requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a client service focus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document formatting tools


COMPENSATION: The estimated salary range for this role for 3-10 years' experience is $62,500 - $102,000. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
