Job Summary:
  • We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer with strong expertise in the Pharmaceutical, Consumer, or OTC industry to support packaging development and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in package engineering, cGMP environments, and regulated industries, along with strong technical knowledge of packaging materials, specifications, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • This role requires cross-functional collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver robust and compliant packaging solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute packaging engineering assignments related to large lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Develop and evaluate primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials and structures to ensure robust packaging systems.
  • Design, create, review, and approve packaging component specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D teams for primary component design and product-related packaging changes.
  • Lead package design development, assessments, and documentation approval processes.
  • Prepare and maintain package development documentation including:
    • Package Component Specifications
    • Package Development Plans & Assessments
    • Packaging Line Trial Protocols & Reports
    • Package Development Reports
  • Lead packaging development projects from concept through implementation.
  • Coordinate and execute package testing and line trials to ensure product integrity and packaging performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues occurring in manufacturing and field operations.
  • Ensure packaging projects comply with corporate standards and government regulations.
  • Support cGMP documentation activities and maintain compliance within regulated environments.
  • Create and maintain copy & graphics specifications, pallet patterns, and finished put-up specifications.
  • Perform SAP-related activities including:
    • Data entry
    • Raw material code requests
    • Bill of Material (BOM) creation and revisions
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to monitor and manage packaging development processes.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of industry experience with at least 3 years in Package Development.
  • Mandatory experience within Pharmaceutical, OTC, or Consumer product industries.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulated environments.
  • Experience with packaging materials, packaging equipment, package testing, and package development processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and packaging documentation processes preferred.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
