Full Job Description
Join the dynamic team at AMETEK Aerospace & Defense as we seek a driven and experienced Pacific Northwest Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to spearhead OEM Sales. Covering a strategic sales territory encompassing Washington, Oregon, and Western Canada, the candidate will reside within Oregon or Washington in a home office. This role offers a pivotal opportunity to lead both strategically and tactically in cultivating new business within the A&D sectors. Reporting directly at the division level, you'll take charge of sales initiatives targeting key Tier 1 and sub-tier clients across six business units, playing a central role in driving growth and market penetration.

This position reports to the Aerospace & Defense Director of Sales - Americas.

What You Will Do in the Role:

Accelerate Growth: As the cornerstone of this role, you will strategize and execute plans to meet and surpass the company's growth targets:
  • Your foremost duty will be to proactively seek out and cultivate new business opportunities. This involves leveraging existing accounts for incremental growth while actively hunting for and nurturing relationships with new customers.
  • A critical aspect of driving growth will involve capitalizing on the second-source opportunities to displace incumbent competitors, thereby expanding our market presence and market share.

Maximize Sales Impact: You'll be tasked with achieving territory orders and life-of-program win objectives, executing with precision and ambition:
  • Operating within the established aerospace and defense market including sectors like commercial aviation, you'll navigate diverse landscapes to capitalize on every sales opportunity.
  • With a keen eye for detail and a focus on efficiency, you'll employ a process-oriented approach to manage intricate and substantial sales pipelines.
  • Cultivating profound connections with key strategic customers will be a priority, fostering enduring partnerships that drive sustained sales.

Product Development Collaboration: Work collaboratively with external customers, internal departments such as engineering and senior management to shape a product development roadmap that is highly attuned to customer needs, ensuring a competitive edge and bolstering market share.

What You Will Bring to the Role:
  • BA/BS required, Engineering or equivalent technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales and/or marketing role in an Aerospace and/or Defense sectors
  • Demonstrated track record of sales success, with the ability to influence, cultivate, and secure new business with customers
  • Excellent presentation and people skills
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Strong ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to pass a background check and 9-panel drug screen
  • Remote Work Location: within the states of Washington or Oregon
  • Due to the nature of the Aerospace & Defense Division's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the US and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
