Physician Assistant (PA)
The Physician Assistant (PA) works collaboratively as part of a care team to provide quality comprehensive primary medical care services to Sea Mar patients. This role focuses on team-based coordinated care, clinical affairs, and improving the patient care experience while adhering to organization-wide mission and core values.
Key Duties:
Provide primary medical care services in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, and licensure, under the supervision of medical leadership.
Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.
Prescribe and/or dispense required medication according to Washington State Board prescriptive authority and with the sponsoring physician's supervision.
Participate in preventive health programs (immunizations, disease detection/prevention) and approved education programs for patients and community groups.
Participate in clinical affairs and work with administrative and medical leadership to improve patient care.
Provide care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree or a minimum of two (2) years of college credits.
State licensed Physician Assistant-Certified.
Successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Notation of approval on license to prescribe legend drugs, and a current DEA certificate if requesting privileges for controlled substances.
Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment.
Knowledge of and interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people.
Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements: Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required; annual influenza vaccine required (or an approved administrative exemption with mandatory masking). Might require additional education for some specialty areas.
Starting Wage: $131,250
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
