Job Summary
The Qualys System Security Engineer will serve as the lead technical engineer and subject matter expert for the Qualys platform and associated vulnerability management capabilities. The role will provide technical direction for Qualys scanning, platform engineering, troubleshooting, automation, reporting, integrations, and operational activities while supporting engineering standards and knowledge development.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the lead technical engineer and subject matter expert for the Qualys platform and associated vulnerability management capabilities.
• Provide technical direction for the design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing engineering of Qualys scanning capabilities.
• Establish and promote engineering standards and best practices for scanning, reporting, integrations, automation, and platform operations.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex technical issues and partner with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and vendor teams as needed.
• Mentor other engineers and help develop deeper Qualys and vulnerability management expertise across the team.
• Support scripting and automation initiatives using AI.
Required Qualifications
• Extensive knowledge of Qualys capabilities.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and Qualys scanning capabilities.
• Experience with scripting and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and vendor teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience establishing engineering standards and best practices for vulnerability management platforms.
• Experience optimizing Qualys platform operations, scanning, reporting, and integrations.
• Experience mentoring engineers on Qualys and vulnerability management capabilities.
