A Day in the Life:The purpose of this role is to lead Operational Technology (OT) and Automation for a defined subregion within Bunge North America, ensuring that site infrastructure and system architectures align with industry best practices and Bunge standards, comply with corporate cybersecurity policies, and enable scalable Industry 4.0 capabilities, including edge-to-cloud connectivity and advanced digital use cases.
What You'll Be Doing: - Develop site relationships and lead 5-year OT & Automation roadmaps to ensure control system lifecycle health, modernization, and alignment with Bunge North America standards.
- Plan, design, and execute OT & Automation scope for capital projects; partner with corporate PMs on projects >$5M and work directly with system integrators where site resources are limited.
- Maintain and improve industrial control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA), while establishing and enforcing standards, governance, and Industry 4.0 strategies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting, and drive site improvements in safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost performance through automation solutions.
- Oversee specifications, schedules, budgets, and reporting; manage system integrators and vendors to ensure compliance with Bunge requirements and consistent delivery quality.
Skills/Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting operating assets in EIA (Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation) environments as part of an owner's team.
- Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and system handover activities.
- At least 5 years of experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines in a project or operational environment.
- Experience in industrial operating environments such as oilseeds processing, grain handling, milling, chemical processing, agriculture, biofuels, food and beverage, pulp and paper, packaging, power generation, or industrial automation.
- Strong project management experience leading capital projects with Total Installed Costs (TIC) exceeding $1 million, particularly those involving Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (ICE) systems.
- Knowledge of industrial computing and Operational Technology (OT) networking systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of hazardous location classification and rating assessments.
- Familiarity with project quality assurance and quality control practices, including:
- Inspection Requirement Specifications (IRS)
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Commissioning and startup quality processes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Grain handling experience preferred.
