As a T&A Deployment Engineer 6 Large Cranes, you will play a critical role in deploying large crane automation solutions across one of APM Terminals' major transformation programmes. You will serve as the technical authority for the deployment of crane automation products, overseeing the implementation lifecycle from installation and commissioning through to integration, testing, go-live, and operational stabilisation. Working closely with operational, engineering, product, and project teams, you will help ensure automation solutions are successfully integrated into live terminal operations while maintaining business continuity.
Location: Onsite in Bremerhaven, Germany
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end onsite deployment of large crane automation systems, including installation, commissioning, integration, testing, and go-live support.
- Coordinate the integration of crane automation products with terminal assets, operational systems, and third-party technologies.
- Monitor project progress, identify technical risks and issues, and provide recommendations to support successful project delivery.
- Review technical documentation, oversee supplier activities onsite, and ensure deployment activities meet project and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, product managers, operations, and testing teams to align technical deliverables with operational requirements.
- Define testing milestones, acceptance criteria, and participate in validation, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Deliver technical knowledge transfer and capability building for terminal operators, maintenance teams, and deployment personnel.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering; automation-related qualifications are considered an advantage.
- Proven experience in container terminal operations, port automation, and the deployment of industrial automation technologies within complex project environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of PLCs (Siemens S7-300/1200/1500), SCADA systems (WinCC, Ignition), motion control systems, industrial communication protocols, and technologies including TOS, ECS, OPC UA, APIs, middleware, 5G, and cybersecurity.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical deployments involving civil, mechanical, electrical, IT, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and project delivery skills, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Fluency in English is required; German is preferred.
