Full Job Description
Job Brief: Orthopedic Surgeon (Total Joint)

We are looking for a Total Joint Orthopedic surgeon to treat patients with orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to joint arthritic conditions, fractures, dislocations, muscles, and ligaments-focus will be sub-specialty based with a mix of general.

What You Can Expect:
• Provides care for Orthopedic conditions using generally accepted standards of practice. Develops a plan of care for each patient, including as needed complete history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and /or referral, used all available resources in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
• Addresses clinical issues and develops medical aspects of care plan, including but not limited to, recommendations regarding observations, lab tests, medications, referrals, ordering tests and prescribing medications as appropriate.
• Act as member of a treatment team, ensuring delivery of quality care and maintaining professional competence.
• Confers with consulting physicians, midlevel providers, nurses, support staff, patients, and families concerning treatment and care of patients.
• Makes further appropriate specialty and sub-specialty referrals, maintains responsibility, assuring continuing of care.
• Participate in all department activities including on call responsibilities, meetings, etc.
• Completing charting and required paperwork in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:
  • MD or DO Board Certified or Eligible in Orthopedics and/or subspecialty
  • Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA)
  • Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the State of Georgia
  • ACLS
