Working with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail, the Reporting Analyst gathers and validates data, develops and maintains recurring and ad hoc reports, identifies trends, risks, and performance gaps, and communicates findings through clear dashboards, summaries, and recommendations. The analyst also helps resolve data-quality and reporting barriers that may affect operational efficiency, service quality, revenue performance, or strategic initiatives.
Core Competencies- Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving - Evaluates complex datasets, identifies trends and root causes, and develops actionable recommendations.
- Vendor Data Curiosity - Identifies data gaps and partners with vendors to define, validate, and operationalize new data fields.
- Self-Initiative - Prioritizes work, investigates issues independently, and proactively brings forward solutions without requiring detailed direction.
- Adaptability - Thrives in dynamic environments where workflows, systems, reporting requirements, and business priorities evolve rapidly.
- Quality & Accuracy - Ensures data integrity through validation, proactively identifies discrepancies, and delivers reporting leaders can trust.
- Business Partnership - Collaborates effectively across Operations, Revenue Cycle, Order Management, Patient Access, Patient Experience, Sales, Finance, IT, and external vendor partners.
- Communication & Strategic Insight - Translates complex data into clear, actionable insights through dashboards, reports, presentations, and executive-level recommendations.
- Change Leadership - Challenges existing processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps drive organizational change through data-driven insights.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence & Performance Reporting
- Architect, develop, and govern scalable dashboards, KPI scorecards, operational reporting suites, and executive reporting packages that integrate data from multiple internal and vendor platforms.
- Lead the design of cross-functional reporting solutions spanning multiple functions within Order Management and Quality, reconciling distinct business rules into a consistent analytical framework.
- Establish and continuously refine performance measurement frameworks, KPI hierarchies, targets, service-level indicators, and exception thresholds that connect frontline execution to departmental and enterprise objectives.
- Perform multidimensional, longitudinal, and root-cause analyses to isolate performance drivers, emerging risks, capacity constraints, process bottlenecks, and revenue or service opportunities; convert findings into prioritized, evidence-based recommendations.
Data Architecture, Vendor Integration & Reporting Governance
- Assess source-system architecture and reporting dependencies to identify missing, incomplete, or unreliable data elements that limit KPI measurement, workflow visibility, forecasting, compliance monitoring, or strategic decision-making.
- Translate complex business questions into detailed data, integration, and reporting requirements; lead working sessions with vendors, system owners, IT, and operational stakeholders to define, test, validate, and operationalize new fields and data feeds.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, metric specifications, lineage documentation, validation rules, ownership standards, and downstream impact assessments to ensure consistent interpretation and sustainable reporting.
- Design controlled interim data-capture and reconciliation solutions when required information is unavailable, including risk controls, audit procedures, transition plans, and criteria for migration into enterprise systems.
Advanced Data Management, Analytics & Automation
- Develop, optimize, document, and peer-validate advanced SQL queries and reusable data models that join complex operational, financial, quality, and vendor datasets while preserving traceability and performance.
- Design and execute comprehensive data-quality controls, reconciliations, anomaly detection, and issue-resolution protocols across source systems, analytical models, dashboards, and published reports.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for metric governance by resolving definition conflicts, establishing calculation standards, documenting approved logic, and facilitating adoption across business functions.
- Apply advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and comparable analytical technologies to transform high-volume, multi-source data into intuitive visualizations, diagnostic analyses, forecasts, and decision-support tools.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement automation and AI-enabled reporting opportunities, including requirements definition, control design, output validation, adoption measurement, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Order Lifecycle Analytics
- Build end-to-end analytical views of the order lifecycle that connects referral volume, intake productivity, documentation readiness, conversion, order progression, shipment, billing readiness, to revenue outcomes.
- Develop capacity, productivity, service-level, quality, and work-queue analyses at individual, team, workflow, and organizational levels, accounting for volume mix, aging, staffing conditions, and operational dependencies.
- Model referral aging, abandonment, throughput, rework, and turnaround-time patterns to identify systemic constraints and quantify their effects on patient access, order completion, service quality, and revenue realization.
- Lead complex root-cause investigations involving cancellations, escalations, complaints, service failures, delayed progression, and quality defects; synthesize quantitative evidence and operational context into corrective-action recommendations.
Quality & Revenue Risk Analytics
- Conduct cohort, variance, and trend analyses of product issues, shipping delays, returns, delivery failures, escalations, complaints, and repeat contacts; distinguish isolated events from systemic risks requiring intervention.
- Design executive and operational dashboards that integrate delivery success, follow-up compliance, patient engagement, utilization, issue resolution, service recovery, and revenue-risk indicators with drill-down capability and actionable exception views.
- Quantify and prioritize workflow gaps affecting timely follow-up, billing readiness, issue resolution, and ongoing support; partner with accountable leaders to establish corrective measures and monitor sustained improvement.
Strategic Partnership, Process Improvement & Change Leadership
- Act as a senior analytical advisor to operational leaders by framing ambiguous business problems, challenging assumptions, defining measurable outcomes, and developing analytical roadmaps for high-impact initiatives.
- Translate operational and strategic challenges into analytical hypotheses, measurement plans, business cases, and sequenced recommendations that balance patient, quality, operational, financial, and technical considerations.
- Design pre- and post-implementation measurement strategies for operational, vendor, technology, and process changes; evaluate adoption, control effectiveness, benefits realization, unintended consequences, and sustainability.
- Develop and deliver executive-ready dashboards, decision briefs, presentations, and recommendations that clearly communicate methodology, assumptions, risks, tradeoffs, and required actions to technical and non-technical audiences.
