Oracle OCI DBA Onsite Description: We are seeking a new talent to join the State of Ohio OCI Migration team where you will have the opportunity to collaborate in the project. The client is STATE OF OHIO, a company that provides government services and administration for the state of Ohio. We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle OCI DBA with strong hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), particularly within Exadata Cloud Service environments. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently managing database operations, patching, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and operational maintenance in a complex enterprise environment. Administer and support Oracle databases hosted on OCI Exadata Cloud Service Manage and maintain Container Databases (CDBs) and Pluggable Databases (PDBs) Perform database patching and upgrades, including: DOM0 / DOMU patching PSU patching Database upgrades from both the OCI Console and Oracle database command line Monitor database health, availability, and performance Configure and manage monitoring and alerting using OCI-native tools to create an Oracle Enterprise Manager-like monitoring experience Troubleshoot Oracle database issues across infrastructure, platform, and database layers Support backup, recovery, and database operational maintenance activities Ensure database environments follow operational best practices for performance, reliability, and security Support high availability, stability, and performance optimization across Oracle database platforms Required Qualifications Proven experience as an Oracle DBA Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Hands-on experience supporting Exadata Cloud Service in OCI Strong understanding of CDB/PDB architecture and Oracle database maintenance practices Demonstrated experience with: DOM0 / DOMU patching PSU patching Database upgrades via OCI Console and Oracle command line Experience building and managing OCI-native database monitoring and alerting solutions Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience designing automated operational workflows for Oracle environments Experience with enterprise monitoring, alerting, and operational support models Familiarity with high-availability and performance optimization practices for Oracle platforms
