You'll own the HCM workstream on a large Oracle Cloud implementation - leading design, configuration, and delivery of the employee lifecycle from hire to retire. Core HR, Talent Management, and Recruiting are the center of gravity for this role, but the strongest candidates bring real range: the more of Payroll, Time & Labor, Benefits, and Absence Management you can carry, the more of the people side of this program you'll own.
You'll partner closely with the Finance and Projects workstreams on the touchpoints that matter - payroll costing to GL, labor distribution to projects - and with the Technical Lead on HCM data conversion and integrations.
What You'll Do- Lead requirements and design workshops across the HCM workstream, driving fit/gap decisions to documented, signed-off designs.
- Perform hands-on configuration of Core HR (Global Human Resources) - enterprise and workforce structures, jobs and positions, grades, person and employment models, and lifecycle actions.
- Design and configure Talent Management - goals, performance, talent review and succession, and career development - aligned to the client's talent philosophy.
- Design and configure Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC): requisitions, candidate experience, job application flows, offers, and recruiting-to-onboarding handoffs (Journeys).
- Lead or support design and configuration of additional modules in scope - Payroll, Time & Labor, Benefits, Absence Management, and Compensation - flexing coverage based on your depth and the staffing plan.
- Own HCM security and workflow design: roles, areas of responsibility, data security, approval rules, and HR Help Desk considerations.
- Design redwood-forward employee and manager self-service experiences, including Journeys for onboarding and key lifecycle events.
- Define HCM master data and conversion requirements - workers, assignments, salary, balances - and validate HDL-converted data each mock cycle alongside the Technical Lead.
- Coordinate cross-workstream touchpoints: payroll costing to General Ledger, labor distribution to Projects, and worker-to-expense/procurement linkages.
- Author functional design documents (FDDs), configuration workbooks, and process flows to SC&H documentation standards.
- Build test scenarios and lead SIT and UAT cycles for the HCM workstream, including parallel payroll testing where Payroll is in scope.
- Deliver train-the-trainer sessions for HR, recruiting, and payroll teams; support end-user training materials and job aids.
- Support cutover execution and hypercare, stabilizing HR and payroll operations post-go-live.
What You Bring- 6+ years of Oracle HCM functional experience, with at least 2 full-lifecycle Oracle Cloud (Fusion) HCM implementations.
- Deep, hands-on configuration expertise in Core HR (Global Human Resources), Talent Management, and Oracle Recruiting Cloud - these three are non-negotiable.
- Working configuration knowledge of at least one additional module: Payroll, Time & Labor, Benefits, Absence Management, or Compensation - the more, the better.
- Strong command of HCM foundational design: enterprise structures, workforce structures, person/employment models, and the downstream consequences of early design choices.
- Understanding of HCM touchpoints with Finance - payroll costing, GL mapping, and labor distribution.
- Experience writing high-quality functional documentation (FDDs, test scripts, configuration workbooks) and facilitating workshops with HR leadership and process owners.
- Experience leading or executing SIT/UAT test cycles with structured defect management.
Nice to Have- Oracle Cloud HCM certifications across multiple modules.
- Hands-on experience with US Payroll implementation, including parallel testing and third-party integrations (tax filing, garnishments, 401(k)).
- Experience with HDL (HCM Data Loader) conversions and HCM Extracts from the functional side.
- Familiarity with Redwood UX adoption, Journeys design, and Oracle's quarterly release management for HCM.
- Exposure to Workforce Compensation cycles, HCM Communicate, or Oracle ME.
- Public sector or union-environment HCM experience (position control, union rules in Time & Labor, step-based pay).
- Consulting experience with direct client-facing delivery responsibility; experience mentoring analysts.
