Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists on patient co-management
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for eye surgery patients
  • Educate patients on eye care and contact lens hygiene
  • Document patient diagnoses and treatment plans accurately in EMR
  • Support the optical retail team with lens prescriptions and eyewear recommendations

Full Job Description
We are seeking a licensed and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care to patients, including vision exams, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses. This individual should demonstrate clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and a collaborative spirit with other healthcare providers and staff.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests for patients of all ages
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on co-management of patients
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens hygiene, and vision health
  • Document patient diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Maintain current knowledge of optometric techniques, treatments, and technology
  • Participate in continuing education and training programs as required by licensing boards
  • Support the optical retail team by providing lens prescriptions and guidance on eyewear recommendations when needed

  • Typical daily schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
