This role combines hands-on mechanical and technical maintenance with gas analysis and systems support. You will guide system lifecycle activities including field installation support, routine quality testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and agile emergency response.
- Gas System Operations: Oversee daily performance and operations of semiconductor gas distribution equipment to maintain uninterrupted, in-spec gas delivery.
- Maintenance & Repair: Execute preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for air separation gas plant assets and complete mechanical/electrical repairs on system piping, valves, and control components. Log all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Analytical Testing & Quality Control: Set up, calibrate, and operate gas analysis instruments (trace moisture analyzers, trace oxygen analyzers, gas chromatographs) to monitor gas purity levels and generate test reports.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose electro-mechanical failures and process upsets in pressurized UHP environments utilizing electrical schematics, PLC logic, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Installation Support: Provide technical engineering support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of new gas delivery and purification systems.
- Contractor & Project Collaboration: Coordinate third-party contractors during site projects, actively monitoring work quality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Emergency On-Call Support: Provide technical support and field engineering services to rapidly address unexpected gas system upsets and minimize customer production downtime.
- Primary Production Systems Support: Provide operating and maintenance support for ASU, APSA, CDA, and compressor systems.
- Inventory & Documentation: Assist in managing site spare parts inventory for gas delivery systems. Help write and update site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance logs.
- EHS Compliance: Strictly adhere to all industrial safety standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), hazardous material safety, cleanroom protocols, and PPE guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement & Quality Audits: Participate in audits, lead FMEAs, support RCFAs, customer interactions, system planning and commissioning activities.
Are you a MATCH?Education & Experience Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 1-5 years of hands-on experience in an engineering, operations, or other relevant technical role.
- Industry Background: Direct experience with high-purity gas delivery systems in the semiconductor, industrial gas, chemical, or aerospace sectors.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 30% nationwide to customer sites and operations locations requiring technical support.
Technical Qualifications & Competencies- Gas Systems Knowledge: Practical understanding of high-pressure specialty and bulk gas delivery systems, hardware components, and operating safety dynamics.
- Analytical Instrumentation: General understanding of gas analytical equipment (moisture/oxygen trace analyzers, gas chromatographs, leak detectors) and the ability to learn operation and calibration procedures.
- Purification Equipment: General understanding of gas purification systems.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
- Mechanical & Technical Skillset: electro-mechanical troubleshooting, and safely working on pressurized cryogenic and gas delivery systems.
- Controls Knowledge: Basic understanding and ability to operate PLC and DCS control systems.

Physical & Safety Requirements- Safety Protocols: Firm understanding of industrial plant safety, LOTO compliance, and safety permit processes.
- PPE Requirements: Ability to wear required safety equipment, including hardhats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and FRC gear daily when in the field.
- Physical & Mobility: Comfortable standing and walking across expansive manufacturing plants. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight equipment spaces.
- Lifting: Ability to safely lift and carry technical equipment up to 50 lbs.
