Your MissionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Operational Quality Manager is responsible for driving quality, process consistency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This position provides hands-on leadership for quality systems and operational performance, ensuring products are manufactured consistently to customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The Operational Quality Manager works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to identify process risks, eliminate recurring defects, improve manufacturing performance, and establish a culture of quality and accountability throughout the plant. .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection requirements, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Lead quality performance across manufacturing operations, including incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods
- Monitor production quality metrics, including scrap, rework, defects, first-pass yield, customer complaints, and process capability
- Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and established quality standards establishing appropriate inspection and sampling plans based on product and process risk
- Use root-cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa analysis, Pareto analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve process capability, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Prepare for and support customer, internal, and third-party quality audits ensuring timely resolutions, closure of audit findings implementation of corrective actions
- Provide training on quality procedures, inspection methods, problem-solving techniques, and process requirements
The ProfileSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead, coach, and develop quality engineers, technicians, inspectors, and other quality personnel as applicable
- Promote a quality-at-the-source culture in which employees are empowered to identify and address quality issues
Specific Job Skills, Specialized Knowledge or Certifications - Experience with root-cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA, control plans, SPC, and process improvement
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor and with senior leadership
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other relevant manufacturing quality standards.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and manufacturing quality systems.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and measurement systems analysis (MSA)
