The OpportunityThe Operations Planning Engineer serves as a critical link between Gas Control, Field Operations, Commercial Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Customers to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the pipeline system. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating operational plans, evaluating system capacity impacts, supporting real-time operations, managing planned and unplanned outages, and providing hydraulic and operational analysis to facilitate informed decision-making.
The position supports Gas Control by maintaining operational awareness of system constraints, forecasting operational impacts, and ensuring timely communication of events affecting pipeline operations, customer service, and system reliability.
What you'll do- Apply engineering and other analytical expertise in assigned functional activities
- Use pipeline computer simulation models of the pipeline system to evaluate pipeline operations and efficiency to meet customer needs.
- Use pipeline computer simulation models of the pipeline system to calculate capacity restrictions for maintenance and project activities. Coordinates the activities to minimize impact to customers as well as financial impact to TC.
- Use pipeline computer simulation models and other tools to analyze daily pipeline operations, to predict performance, to locate underutilized capacity, to simulate operating conditions in order to respond to technical questions from Gas Control, and to compare actual versus estimated deliveries
- Provide engineering oversight to minimize effect of construction and testing activities on the daily gas flow operating plans
- Develop alternative operating, replacement, and expansion proposals
- Coordinate with Facility Planning and Gas Control, Operations, and Engineering regarding growth, integrity work, and maintenance. Incorporate changes as appropriate.

Minimum qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university program.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with peer technical customer representatives to identify problems and possible solutions
- Ability to maintain ongoing positive presence with customers, other stakeholders and outside entities (i.e. Producers, Pipelines, LDCs, vendors, etc) through professional communications
- Knowledgeable to apply formal planning techniques for major projects
- Demonstrated ability to develop engineering standards, specifications, guidelines, policies and procedures
Preferred qualifications- Experience performing hydraulic models, proficiency with gas flow modeling software, capacity planning and/or facility scheduling
*This position requires candidates to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.
