Required skills and experience:
• 7 years working as an Operations Manager, Project Manager, or similar role in Construction or Hospitality Operations
• 5 - 7 years of experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams
• Proven track record of increasing productivity, improving communication, and streamlining processes
• Basic knowledge of Human Resource processes and procedures
• World-class communication skills with the ability to be a conduit between team members, leadership, the owner, and clients
• Flexible and resilient personality
• Humble, selfless, and relatable leader who leads with their finger on the pulse of the business
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team for peak performance
• A fantastic sense of humor and a desire to work as a team for a small company
• The desire to live and work on Kauai
As the Operations Manager, you will:
• Manage the daily operations (focusing on people and processes) of a luxury residential design-build firm
• Lead and manage a team of up to 40 team members, including Project Managers, Tradesmen, Designers, Architects, and Administrative Support personnel
• Act as the liaison between the leadership team and the owner
• Analyze processes and systems and make recommendations to increase efficiency and productivity • Enrich the company culture and support the morale of the team through personalized, hands-on management
• Maintain a general knowledge of the status of all projects
• Recommend and implement leadership development opportunities
• Act as the company captain - constantly checking on the morale, productivity, and effectiveness of the team
