Full Job Description
Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our Field Services team specializing in high voltage testing and commissioning. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Senior Technician or Lead Field Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a formal leadership role. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in high voltage systems, proven field experience, and a passion for guiding teams through safe, high-quality project execution. This position offers the chance to grow into a strategic operations role while directly impacting the success of critical infrastructure projects across the region. Position Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the high voltage testing and commissioning team. This role ensures that field activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and technical standards. With approximately 40 direct reports, this supervisor leads workforce planning, resource allocation, job scoping, performance monitoring, and cross-functional coordination with project managers, engineering, and safety teams. This role requires a strong background in high voltage systems, leadership in field operations, and the ability to manage dynamic priorities across multiple sites. Duties and Responsibilities: - Lead and coordinate field crews for testing and commissioning of high voltage equipment (substations, transformers, breakers, protection systems, etc.) - Ensure adherence to project schedules, scopes, and technical standards. - Allocatepersonneland equipment based on job requirements and technician certifications. - Supervise and support a team of approximately 40 field personnelin a growing business unit. - Support high voltage test procedures, troubleshooting, and commissioning processes as needed. - Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed. - Oversee onboarding, training, and development of new field staff. - Foster a strong safety culture and team-oriented environment. - Work with Project Managers to develop scopes of work and job execution plans. - Track job progress and adjust resources to meet shifting project demands. - Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on field progress, issues, and resource needs. - Maintainaccuratetime tracking, equipment usage logs, and job completion reports. - Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve field-related issues. - Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and electrical standards (NESC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, etc.). - Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions. - Position requires regular travel to job sites (local and regional). - Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required by project schedules. - Field environment with potential exposure to high voltage systems and outdoor elements. - Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
