Job Title: Operations Management Engineer
Department: Operations Management Department

Job Summary:

The position will be responsible for workforce planning, production capacity planning, labor productivity management, line balancing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Operations Management Department. The position will work closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to identify process constraints, improve production flow, optimize changeover activities, and support data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of translating production data into actionable improvement opportunities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain workforce plans, staffing structures, and labor requirements based on production capacity, demand, and operational needs.
  • Conduct manpower planning and position benchmarking to optimize headcount allocation and improve labor utilization.
  • Monitor and analyze labor productivity and overall operational efficiency, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Support production planning and capacity planning based on demand, equipment capacity, manpower availability, and production constraints.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules and capacity plans to support daily and long-term manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform line balancing analysis and regularly update line balance based on changes in product mix, process flow, cycle time, and production requirements.
  • Monitor daily production output and prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports, including key productivity and operational metrics.
  • Establish and maintain daily production data collection processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of production performance.
  • Analyze production takt time, cycle time, and process capacity to identify bottlenecks and improve production flow.
  • Work with production teams to optimize line takt time, workstation utilization, and labor allocation.
  • Lead and support SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) and changeover improvement initiatives to reduce setup/changeover time and increase equipment utilization.
  • Conduct time studies, process observations, and data analysis to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements.
  • Identify production constraints and develop data-driven recommendations to improve throughput, labor efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects and monitor improvement results.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and productivity metrics to support management decision-making.
  • Provide analytical support for operational reviews, capacity planning, headcount planning, and productivity improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Educational or professional experience in data analysis, statistics, industrial engineering, or manufacturing operations is preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production planning, industrial engineering, workforce planning, or productivity improvement is preferred.
