WORKSITE:

JOB DUTIES:
Provide engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system and to ensure continuing reliable operations of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Market Guides. Implement appropriate system modeling. Develop tools and procedures to monitor and control the system. Perform system studies. Analyze simulated or actual operating results. Develop solutions to current or future system issues. Report findings and recommendations. Mentor and serve as team lead for the work of lower-level professional or support employees as needed. Serve as technical expert for the department. Respond to executive and management inquiries and special reporting requests. Collaborate with other ERCOT departments to select and implement system changes as needed. Communicate results of analyses to appropriate stakeholders. Maintain regular communication with the management team. Provide relevant information to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements. Examine, analyze, and determine efficiency improvements for departmental and organizational processes and procedures. Serve as the departmental representative on cross-functional teams, proactively providing technical, business, and policy guidance. Serve as quality assurance and best practices resource within and outside of the department. Build strong professional relationships both internally and externally. Lead audits assigned by management. Prepare reports and presentations to stakeholder bodies, the ERCOT Board of Directors and regulatory agencies, including preparing testimony as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Eight (8) years of experience as Power Systems Engineer, EMS Operations Systems Engineer, Systems Operations Engineer, or Planning Engineer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The required experience must have been in the electric utility industry.
OTHER:
May telecommute up to three days per week from within the State of Texas. #LI-DNP
OFFERED WAGE: $189,800.00 - $222,775.00 per year
