A Snapshot of Your Day

The Operational Improvement Business Analyst supports Project and Service Operations performance by providing structured cost analysis, financial transparency, and early risk identification across outage execution. This role contributes analytical expertise, variance analysis, and performance insight to improve cost predictability and execution discipline.

The role partners with Field Operations, Project Management, District Service Managers (DSMs), Business Operations Analysts (BOAs), and Operational Improvement colleagues to reinforce consistent cost practices, ensure cost data is accurate, timely, and actionable throughout the project lifecycle.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Perform continuous cost monitoring and variance analysis for Service Operations projects, including labor, materials, travel, and subcontractors, including providing structured insights and early warnings to project and operations stakeholders.
  • Support project cost governance by identifying recurring cost drivers, risks, and process gaps.
  • Ensure integrity, consistency, and usability of financial and operational data across SAP, Project Module, and reporting tools.
  • Prepare analytical inputs, trends, and explanations to support project reviews, governance forums, and leadership reporting.
  • Contribute to standardization, cost-out, and continuous improvement initiatives by translating data into repeatable recommendations.
What You Bring
  • 8+ years' experience in business analysis, cost controls, or financial operations in a project-based or field service environment. Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience will be considered. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
  • Working knowledge of cost tracking, variance analysis, and cost controls within a project-based or service environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience in operational improvement, continuous improvement, or project controls; proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools; and Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable improvement training
