Enstructure is seeking an accomplished and business-minded General Manager to lead City Docks in Houston. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with full accountability for the terminal's safety, operations, financial performance, people, customer relationships, and business growth.
With full P&L ownership, the GM will set the direction for City Docks while remaining close to the operation, driving operational excellence, developing strong teams, strengthening customer partnerships, and identifying opportunities to grow the business.
As the leader of City Docks, the GM will work closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Safety, HR, IT, and other corporate functions, while serving as a key representative with customers, port authorities, regulatory agencies, labor partners, logistics providers, and the local community.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAD
Strategic & Financial Leadership
• Own the terminal P&L, budget, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company objectives and market opportunities.
• Drive profitability through operational efficiency, cost discipline, productivity improvements, and effective asset utilization.
• Identify business and financial risks and take proactive action to protect performance and support long-term growth.
Operational Excellence
• Lead safe, efficient, reliable, and customer-focused terminal operations.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across safety, productivity, service, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Optimize labor, equipment, capacity, and terminal throughput.
• Drive continuous improvement and lead operational change.
Commercial & Customer Relationships
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers, shipping lines, logistics providers, port authorities, and other key stakeholders.
• Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to identify and pursue new business and organic growth opportunities.
• Support contract, service agreement, tariff, and commercial negotiations.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the market, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
People & Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and accountability.
• Develop leaders and support workforce and succession planning.
• Lead labor relations and support labor negotiations, as appropriate.
• Foster collaboration between City Docks and corporate teams.
Safety & Compliance
• Champion a safety-first culture where safety is embedded in every aspect of the operation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, legal, regulatory, environmental, and company requirements.
• Ensure effective safety training, incident investigation, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Hold leaders and teams accountable for maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational discipline.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within marine terminals, stevedoring, ports, logistics, transportation, or similarly complex industrial operations.
• Proven experience leading a significant operation with full P&L accountability.
• Strong knowledge of terminal operations, breakbulk cargo, stevedoring, shipping, and port infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success leading large, multidisciplinary teams in complex, fast-paced operating environments.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and commercial negotiations.
• Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for business growth.
• Experience working in unionized or labor-intensive environments strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, improve performance, and deliver measurable results.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish is an asset.
