Do you like being involved in major projects from the start and turning complex commercial work into real business value? DuPont's Global Procurement team is looking for a
Senior Project Buyer - Operating Materials & Services to lead procurement for
capital and operational projects across the company.
This is a visible role with real influence. You'll be the main procurement contact for capital and site teams and represent the team to internal business groups. You'll also guide other project buyers and work closely with the commodity buy team. Your sourcing, contracting and negotiating will directly affect project cost, schedule and success.
What You'll DoShape sourcing strategy from the start- Build and carry out sourcing strategies that fit each project's scope, schedule and budget.
- Get involved early in the project lifecycle to shape procurement and contracting decisions.
- Assign projects to other buyers based on buy type and team workload.
Lead high-value sourcing and contracting- Run the full sourcing process for major packages: RFI/RFP/RFQ, technical and commercial bid evaluation, and award.
- Structure and negotiate complex contracts (lump-sum, reimbursable, unit-rate and hybrid), balancing risk and value.
- Design contracting strategies that fit each project's risk profile and current market conditions.
Negotiate and deliver measurable value- Negotiate pricing, payment milestones, warranties, liquidated damages, retention and performance guarantees.
- Drive cost savings, cost avoidance and value engineering without compromising safety, quality or schedule.
- Manage currency, escalation and commodity-linked pricing on long-duration contracts.
Build strong supplier and contractor partnerships- With the commodity buy team, qualify, evaluate and manage OEMs, fabricators, EPC contractors and engineering firms.
- Manage supplier performance through expediting, inspection and progress monitoring until delivery.
Manage risk and governance- Find and reduce schedule, quality, financial and single-source risks on the critical path.
- Ensure compliance with capital approval (AFE) processes, delegation of authority, safety rules and regulatory standards.
Work across functions and keep leaders informed- Work with Engineering, Business, Legal, Finance and Operations to keep procurement in step with project milestones.
- Prepare executive-ready updates on capital commitments, savings, cash flow and procurement risk using Power BI and Excel.
- Support project audits, cost forecasting and closeout.
What You BringEducation and experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related technical field
- 5+ years of procurement experience
- CPSM and/or PMP certification preferred
Skills and strengths- Hands-on experience with complex RFx processes, market analysis and creating business value
- A track record of developing, implementing and managing complex contracts
- Advanced negotiation skills and strong commercial judgment
- The ability to communicate clearly and influence people without direct authority
- The ability to manage several priorities in a fast-moving project environment
- High ethical standards
