Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate: $38.44 - $42.71/per hour

Overview

Beyond New Horizons LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Operating Engineer, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

 

The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift, and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

 

Job Summary

The successful candidate will under the general supervision perform technical, mechanical, electrical and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an engineering test facility.

 

Job Duties:

  • Prepares plant equipment for operations
  • Troubleshoot equipment in case of malfunctions
  • Operate plant equipment during tests
  • Install and maintain facility systems
  • Accomplishes maintenance and servicing to place and keep test facility equipment in operation
  • Uses a wide variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring and testing equipment
  • Instructs less experienced lower grade craftsmen
  • It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of experience as an Operating Engineer in the working section of an aeronautical test facility operations or 6 years of experience in the trade, experience is defined as a mechanical background supporting large plant systems such as boilers, chillers, compressors, etc.; large hydraulic systems with operating pressures above 1500 psi; high and/or low-pressure process control valves; evaporators; and/or compressed air or water systems
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification to operate Forklifts, JLGs, and Overhead Cranes
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to safely understand and execute technical manuals, safety procedures, and operational instructions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and satisfy requirements for access to the AEDC local area network
  • Current U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Defense security and federal contract requirements at AEDC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Ability to operate forklifts
  • Working knowledge of computers

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work at location Tennessee: Arnold Air Force, TN.
