Responsibilities

Hamilton Company is seeking an Onsite Service Engineer to support, repair, and maintain robotic instrumentation at a dedicated customer location in San Carlos, CA. This role is embedded at a single customer site and requires a consistent daily onsite presence. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality technical support through instrument installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while building strong working relationships with customer stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform new equipment installations and system qualifications at the customer site.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal instrument performance and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Hamilton robotic systems and associated components.
  • Identify, document, and communicate equipment issues; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary onsite technical resource, providing timely support and clear communication to the customer.
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical support, applications, and engineering) to resolve complex issues.
  • Adhere to all site-specific safety, compliance, and operational protocols.
  • Maintain a consistent daily onsite presence at the San Carlos, CA customer location.
Qualifications

  • Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
  • Ability to learn new robotic operating systems.
Education/Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit university.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronics, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
  • Experience in technical field service and working with customers in the life science, clinical, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
  • Experience in automation or similar field is required.
  • Being fluent in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 per annum. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, specialized skills, professional qualifications, and internal equity
