Principal, who is expected to lead business development efforts and contribute to a broad range of client projects, both in the US and globally. The new Principal will join the talented consultants across the US Life Practice and play a key role in the sourcing and delivery of projects for Oliver Wyman's clients, which include top tier insurance companies, reinsurance companies, investment banks, law firms, regulators, and private equity firms.
Potential projects and responsibilities may include:
- Oversight of large or multiple client engagements - process planning, communications, and client management
- Identification and development of new sources of business to expand client base
- Lead or participate in client sales meetings and proposal development
- Industry presentations, surveys, and case studies, providing thought leadership and creation of intellectual capital
- Operating with a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability for the maintenance of a portfolio of clients
- Creation and analysis of financial projections, Life and annuity product development and financial reporting
- Analyzing insurance mergers & acquisitions or Capital markets transactions support
- As a senior member of the staff, you will be expected to act as a role model and set best practices for less experienced colleagues. Prior managing experience preferred.
- Work in partnership with our management consulting and actuarial practices
Skills and Attributes- FSA/FIA or equivalent actuarial credentials with 10+ years of professional experience in financial consulting or insurance
- Robust life insurance, annuity and/or long-term care knowledge and industry recognition in areas such as product development, valuation, financial reporting, and risk management
- Record of leading and managing teams, and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments
- Knowledgeable in insurance regulations and in local financial accounting principles
- Knowledge in financial modeling systems, such as Prophet or AXIS is preferred
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent project management and project team leadership skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
